Please email us at moxas@aol.com your stories and pictures of your adopted pets to post monthly on our site. It helps new adopters that may be skeptical about adopting for the first time hear and see the success of adopting “unwanted” pets!

We are creating a large board in our new adoption room and want to fill it with your pictures of our adopted babies. Please continue to send us any great photos you have so that everyone can see the life you have saved!

Remember us for all of your pets needs and keep in touch! We care for and miss our rescues and really enjoy seeing them and helping you in any way we can!

Sugar, a Lab adopted from HALO:   Here is a picture of Sugar and Stormy (in the background), relaxing outside.  Stormy was adopted from Lab Rescue in Ohio in 2010.  Sugar was adopted from Halo in 2011.  With many visits to Dr. Kennedy at Florida Veterinary League in Vero Beach and routine medicines we were able to help Sugar overcome her skin condition and control her allergies.  I would like to thank all of the Halo employees and volunteers who helped Sugar in her time of need.  With so many animals up for adoption it was so kind of you to continue to help Sugar who had much greater needs than most shelter animals.  Today Sugar is a healthy, happy girl who loves life to the fullest.  So thank you for rescuing her and taking great care of her until she came to her forever home with me.

from Ninja’s new family:   I just wanted to write a little thank you letter to everyone at H.A.L.O.  Because of you guys we were able to add the most amazing cat to our family a few months ago.  Ninja was about four and a half months old when we spotted him at Petco.  He was playing in the cage with his brother and sister and was so unbelievably adorable.  We ended up bringing him home after a lot of thought and I am so glad we did!  He is awesome.  He plays with our dog, he has made our six year-old cat more active and he loves everyone in the family.  He is also helping to heal the wound that losing my dog left last year, and I am so grateful for that.  Every time he runs up to greet me when I get home, or purrs like a motor when I’m holding him I just want to hug you guys.  Because of H.A.L.O. he was afforded a chance at life and we were able to find the perfect addition to our family, keep up the good work!

George, a Bichon Frise from the “puppy mill” dogs that HALO saved in June 2011.   His adopting mom Nicola says: “I’d just like to say George is doing wonderful. He’s still very skittish at times but seems to have become pack leader with my other dogs, ie. He is always very close to me and takes food first. He walks at my heel all the time. I’m waiting for him to become more adventurous as at the park he can be off lead and still not go very far from me. He is wonderful loving dog and have spurts of playfulness and joy. I’d like to share his story with others if you want me to promote him on your site. He doesnt have much stamina so Im trying get do more walking every day to get his strength up. Apart from the little things no one knows he is a puppy mill dog. At the dog park he lets others stroke him but he gets a bit unhappy around some other dogs and wants to be picked up.”

From Marguerite – who adopted two of our fav kitties –  Sleeping Beauty and Shadow:

Hello!  I just wanted to say thank you for allowing us to adopt these awesome girls !  We had the little kitten first (on the left) and as we were shopping for pet toys at Petco , we fell in love!  They love their new little sister who is about 10 weeks old , and get along with both of our dogs and ferret.  They are such a joy to have around – we also have 4 boys who adore them, these girls are a wonderful addition to our big family.  We renamed Shadow to Sheba, and Sleeping Beauty is now Sassy, and she really fits her name at times.  Thank you again!!

From Dawn who adopted Pia Pia the Pug:

“We adopted Princess Pia Pia from H.A.LO. in August of 2009, she has be an angel.  Since we adopted her we had her eyes fixed (she was loosing her site), she became a hearing/ PTSD service dog for my husband.  She has been in three magazines, two books, on a radio show and on a television show which will be coming out soon.  Without H.A.L.O. we would have never thought of adoption let alone adopted an her.  We are so appreciative and greatful for H.A..O.  Jacque and everyone there are great and friendly people.
